Prologue
"You really should be more careful Spike" I say dabbing a wet wash cloth along the cuts and burse's on his face. I pull back and look at the scowl he's giving me for lecturing him again on getting in fights again. I give him a glare before dousing the cloth in alcohol and pressing it to his face.
"Oww!!" is all that I get from him. I turn around to grab some bandages and tap to finish up my treatment of his face. "So are you going to tell me who it was you were fighting?" I ask Spike, he just mumbles something under his breath.
"What I didn't get that?" I say turning back with the bandages and tape in hand. "I said I was protecting someone ok" he gives me another glare and huffs about getting treated like a baby. I sigh and finish cleaning him up.
"Ok all done" I step back and look at my handy work, being satisfied I clean up my mess and walk away.
"hey Dawn" I hear my brother call to me, turning around I see Spike looking at me with his big mismatch gold and green eyes looking at me with worry and questions in them.
"Yeah spike?" I say setting down my first aid kit and walking back over to him. "You ok?" he takes a breath before talking.
"I need your advice on something ok...And let me finish before you say anything alright?"I nod and sit down feeling the long talk coming on 'oh boy' I think to myself before focusing in on Spike.
"Dawn I really need your advice" he say sitting down in a chair. "Sure what is it spike?"I say slowly standing.
"I really like this girl, it's just... I don't know if she likes me?"
"Oh spike is it Miya?"
  "NO" Spike says quickly but knowing inside he shouldn't lie.
"Yes... I just don't know how to tell her, and I don't want to make things awkward between us".
"Well just give it a bit more time and maybe she'll come to you" I say walking to the fridge.
"I know but... Maybe your right"
But what If I wait and someone else comes along and steals her?" he says "I don't think that will happen spike, besides you have been friend with her since you too first learned to walk."
I can hear him shuffling around as he stands up and follow me into the kitchen,
"Your still young Spike, you will have plenty of time to woo her" I throw over my shoulder as I open the fridge and scan it for anything eatable.
"Damn" I mumble as I close the fridge coming out empty handed and hungry. I rub the back of my neck and look over to Spike as he looks down at his shoes.
"Want to go out?" I ask thinking of how it's Friday and teens eat with a discount at eddies side road dinner. He nods his head and moves for the door.
"But only on one condition…" I add in as he's about to open the door, raising an eyebrow at me. I just roll my eyes
"Who did you get in a fight with spike?"
